About CCSP

Capital Planning

CCSP manages the Capital Outlay process in close coordination with University leadership. The process is a continuous annual process that prioritizes and manages capital outlay requests, appropriations, and approvals for university projects that include new construction, renovation, acquisition, demolition, repairs, and campus improvements.

For the main campus this effort is led by the Capital Investment Planning Committee (CIP) which is tri-chaired by the representatives of Provost Office, ISS, and HSC. The Comprehensive Capital Plan is used to update our annual priorities and 5-Year Capital Plan.


Space Management

Space is an institutional asset that is increasingly expensive to maintain and build. CCSP provides the University of New Mexico with room-by-room spacial data to support an integrated approach to analyze, plan, manage and allocate space. CCSP collaborates with numerous departments and initiatives to support maximizing UNM's space and is committed to the effective and efficient use of that space.


Planning

Campus Capital and Space Planning is responsible for the development and coordination of the University’s long-range facility and campus plans, implementing the Integrated Campus Plan, capital funding requests, and space planning for the university's land across New Mexico.


Historic Preservation

CCSP works closely with Facilities Design & Construction, Facilities Management, and the UNM Regents' Historic Preservation Committee to uphold the UNM Heritage Preservation Plan, maintain the University's historic resources (buildings and heritage zones) and assists university departments that occupy these spaces with the preservation and protection of these resources.


Data Integration

All the work we do at CCSP requires data management and integration.  Our data team manages the university's database of record, FAMIS, project management platforms, and building and mapping records to serve our university partners.
